Flyknit
nike
Instead of stitching panels of material together, the upper is knitted as a single sock-like piece. On your foot that means fewer seams to rub, a snugger wrap, and less weight — the base idea behind every modern Nike knit upper.
Vaporposite
nike
Three thin layers working together — a knit for fit, a micro-textured skin for grip on the ball, and a slim foam for a bit of touch. It keeps the foot locked to the boot at speed without adding bulk. Used on the Mercurial Superfly/Vapor before the 2026 knits.

Zoom Air
nike
A small springy air pocket under the ball of your foot that compresses and snaps back on each push-off, so a bit of the energy you put in comes back — Nike's claim to 'explosive' acceleration in the Mercurial. It also sits under your foot, so you feel it.

Gripknit
nike
A knit treated to be slightly sticky, so the ball grips the upper on first touch and when you strike it — built for players whose game is control and precision rather than pace. The Phantom 6's 'Tuned Gripknit' spreads it across more of the boot.
Used on: Phantom 6, Phantom GX 2, Phantom GX, Phantom Luna 2
Cyclone 360
nike
A stud pattern arranged for turning: conical studs that let the foot rotate and pivot quickly in any direction, rather than the bladed studs of a speed boot built for straight-line acceleration. Suits the Phantom's stop-start, creative playmaker.
Used on: Phantom 6, Phantom Luna 2
ACC
nike
A coating on the strike zone of the upper meant to give the same grip on the ball in the rain as in the dry, so first touch and swerve don't change when the pitch is wet. A claim about consistency rather than a structural part of the boot.
Primeknit
adidas
adidas's answer to Flyknit: a knitted upper (and often a knitted collar that hugs the ankle on laceless boots) for a sock-like, seamless fit. On the Predator it forms the collar of the laceless version.

Hybridtouch
adidas
A synthetic material tuned to feel soft and controlled like leather but lighter and more weatherproof — the base upper of the Predator control boot, onto which the rubber grip elements are added.
Used on: Predator 26/25/24, Predator Accuracy, Predator Edge
Demonskin
adidas
Small rubber spikes covering the front of the boot that bite the ball, so you can put more spin and grip on a pass or shot. The signature Predator feature; its heir on the Predator 26 is called NanoStrike+.

Sprintframe
adidas
A thin, light soleplate shaped for acceleration and quick changes of direction — the plate under the F50 speed boot, where every gram is cut. 'Sprintframe 360' is the current F50 version.

Fibertouch
adidas
A light synthetic upper with support built in only where it's needed, kept as thin as possible for a close, fast feel. The speed-boot counterpart to the Predator's softer Hybridtouch control upper.

Carbitex
cross-brand
A carbon material engineered to bend easily as your foot flexes forward but stay stiff against twisting, so a boot can be springy underfoot without feeling like a plank. Used in high-end plates and inserts across brands.
